The Reeths-Puffer football team used a strong start to defeat Holland 48-20 on Friday night.
A 38-yard touchdown pass from Ben Veihl to Tayte Vanderleest gave the Rockets a 7-0 lead with 9:34 left in the first quarter.
Veihl then found Jarren Vandenberg on a 24-yard touchdown pass to extend the Reeths-Puffer lead to 14-0 with 4:02 left in the opening quarter.
After a Holland score, Veihl closed the first quarter with a 30-yard touchdown pass to Jaxson Whitaker, giving the Rockets a 21-6 lead after one.
In the second quarter, Brody Johnson broke loose for a pair of touchdowns. He scored runs of 50 and 34 yards making the score 34-14 heading into the half.
In the third quarter, Johnson scored on a 23-yard run to extend the Rocket lead to 41-14 with 10:58 left in the quarter.
The final Rocket touchdown came with 2:24 in the third quarter when Brady Ross punched in a short touchdown run.
Reeths-Puffer is now 3-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Rockets host Muskegon next week.
