Whitehall and Shelby competed in a back-and-forth volleyball match that went the distance Tuesday night. The Vikings outlasted the Tigers to come away with the five-set victory.
Shelby took the first set in impressive fashion with a score of 25-13. Whitehall rallied, winning the next two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-21.
Shelby won the fourth set 25-23 to force a deciding fifth set, which the Vikings won 15-8.
Charley Klint and Rayne Thompson paced the Vikings’ offense with 15 and 14 kills respectively, while Maggie Evans posted an impressive 48 assists on the night.
[1]On the defensive side of the net, Ryleigh Mott managed 20 digs, while Evans posted 14. Sidney Shepherd recorded three blocks for the Vikings.
The Vikings move to 18-2 on their season and 5-0 in West Michigan Conference conference play.
