The Fruitport volleyball team came away with a 2-2 record after playing four matches at Byron Center on Saturday,
Fruitport lost to Mattawan and Caledonia in straight sets, then rallied to beat Kalamazoo Central and Allendale in straight sets.
Kylie Rudolph paced the Trojans with 25 kills and 22 digs. Sydney Woods served up 10 aces and Raegan Dykstra had 64 assists.
Fruitport is now 16-12 on the season.
Ludington goes 2-1 at Montague event
The Ludington volleyball team posted a solid 2-1 record at a quad event at Montague High School on Saturday.
The Orioles started the day with a three-set loss to Montague, then rebounded with a straight-set win over Holton and a three-set win over Spring Lake.
Maddy Vaara led the Orioles in kills with 28 and blocks with eight. Keelyn Laird had 26 kills and led in digs with 16. Jordyn Anderson led in assists with 39 and Mia Pung led in aces with five.
Montague beats Holton, Ludington, falls to Spring Lake
The Montague volleyball team posted a 2-1 record at its own four-team event on Saturday.
The Wildcats beat Holton 20-25, 25-18, 25-20; lost to Spring Lake 25-23, 17-25, 15-25; and beat Ludington 25-22, 25-18. 25-15.
Anastasia Trevino led Montague with 30 kills and eight blocks on the day. Allly Collins served up 10 aces and Jaelyn Sundberg had 86 assists. Morgan Netcott led the defense with 40 digs.
Miona Shores posts 0-3-1 record on Saturday
The Mona Shores volleyball team posted on 0-3-1 record in Saturday competition.
The Sailors split two sets with Jenison, then lost in straight sets to Grand Rapids West Catholic, Cadillac and Kenowa Hills.
Ava Dunn led Mona Shores with 21 kills and five blocks. Grace Norris had 31 assists and 30 digs, while Ali Trautner had a good day with 12 kills and 21 digs.
Mona Shores is now 8-14-1 overall.
Grand Haven falls three times on Saturday against tough competition
The Grand Haven volleyball team had a rough day on Saturday playing in a high-level quad meet at Lowell High School.
The Bucs lost in three sets to Lowell, four sets to Mercy and four sets to Lake Orion.
Molly Long led the day with 20 kills while Alena Whittaker, Paige Redder and Kendall Pahl had 14 kills apiece. Grace Montgomery and Izzy Whiitaker had 12 kills, and Jillian Swierbut added 10 .
Mia Swierbut had 44 digs for the Bucs while Taylor Smaka added 34. Leah Montgomery dished out 58 assists
Grand Haven will visit a powerful Hudsonville squad in a conference match on Thursday.
